Freewoods Farm

This venue was absolutely amazing for our wedding! My wife and I chose it last year, and from start to finish everything went smoothly. Mr. O’Neal is incredibly kind and welcoming, and he shares the rich history of the venue, which makes the experience even more special. The space itself is breathtaking, with a beautiful rustic charm and an unforgettable atmosphere. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to celebrate our special day!

This was a great way to see and hear about a historical family farm.

Great little educational farm and event venue. Michael Alston was a great host and guide for our event (even though he said it was his first time and that his uncle usually handles that stuff).

Looking for a unique experience that was authentic and doubled as a learning opportunity led us to Freewoods Farm. We are definitely going back! They have consumables for purchase like fresh produce and sugar cane syrup if you catch them during the right time of year. This is also an even space for weddings, family reunions, and so much more. They have live stock and a nature trail for the animal and outdoor enthusiasts in your party. The tour was enlightening and informative. I recommend it for families of all ages. The cost is very reasonable. Jon who works on the farm is really nice and patient when explaining the history of the farm and his family. Enrich your time at Myrtle Beach and explore a local farm with a long and storied history in SC. Ask them about the annual schedule for events!

A very special place. This place represents African American History, this represents Black Love, and this place represents humanity. Close your eyes and travel back to when free black people survived and thrived living a sustainable lifestyle.
